All walk times include traveling time from the Domain and returning to the Domain. Please ensure you are under your walk banner at the Registration Centre 15 minutes before the registration time showing on your ticket. This gives us time to run through the mandatory safety checks. There are many places to buy lunch in Mangawhai – at the Heads (Wood St) and the Village. However you may need to buy the day before to ensure you arrive at the Domain in time for your walk start. We are not offering packaged lunches in 2021. Your registration email will outline what you need to bring. This will include suitable footwear, rain jacket, hat, sunscreen, sufficient snacks, lunch and water. Our intention is to run the weekend rain or shine – unless it is unsafe to do so. Please come equipped ready to walk in rain. If we need to cancel we will advise you by email and place a notice on the website and on our facebook page. Walks have limited numbers and will automatically ‘sell out’ when maximum number is reached. You can email us and ask to be put on a wait list. We will let you know if a place becomes available on your preferred walk. All walks depart from the The Domain, Moir Street Mangawhai. Please arrive 15 minutes before the registration time of your walk, shown on your ticket.

Dogs are not permitted on the Clifftop Walk or any of the Tanekaha Tracks at any time, both areas are managed by DOC and are Kiwi Protection Zones.
Our beautiful beaches and estuary are the home to many shore birds, some endangered. Here in Mangawhai we love to protect them as best we can.
